 MAHA Girls Tier III Update

The formation of a girls Tier III team must follow the rules in place for this recreational level of play. The rule can be found on Page 22 Letter C of the 2024-25 Guidebook- Rules and Regulations.

There are a lot of social media posts about teams and interest skates.  These are fine if they follow the rules and are held after the MAHA Tier III state tournament March 14-16th.

These skates can be offered to gauge interest in your association for the formation of a girls’ team, however, no player who is on an active roster with another team/association can attend unless they have a letter from their coach. MAHA has tampering rules in place and allowing a rostered player to skate with a new team/association is not allowed.

Also remember that the formation of Tier III recreational teams is to be on a first come first served basis and no “tryouts or cuts” are allowed.  If there are enough players for more than one team then teams are to be drafted fairly, the same way Tier III youth are formed.

If you have any questions, please email me at VPgirls@MAHA.org and I am happy to answer them.  I do not post on social media as a way of communicating.

It is exciting to see so much interest in growing the girls’ game and adding teams at various age levels.  I am here to support you if needed.
