The growth of girls' hockey is something we should all be proud of.  I consider myself lucky to have been involved since day one.  And the MGHL has always and will always put the players front and center.   

It’s the dedication and passion of our coaches, volunteers, parents and namely the players that keep me involved.   It’s been a lot of fun and very rewarding.  My goal is to advocate for good change in the game and ensuring that every girl in the state of Michigan and beyond has a place to play hockey!

Mike Buell has been Director of the MGHL 8U Division since 2022 - 2023 (the first season of this division).  He has 9 years of coaching experience in Michigan from 6U to 12U, coaching at Troy Sting, Oakland Junior Grizzlies, and Rochester Rattlers.  He started the OJG Girls program in 2021 - 2022 and has daughters playing at 8U and 10U age divisions. 

Michelle has been involved in the sport of hockey as a hockey mom and team manager since 2009, when her son began to play.  She served on the Livonia Hockey Association Board as the Manager Liaison for many seasons until becoming the administrator of the Kensington Valley Hockey Association in 2018.   Michelle has been involved in the MGHL since it returned to a stand-alone league.   Michelle's daughter still plays at the 19u level in the KVHA Ravens program.
